Informal meeting of the provisional meat sector steering group

At the close of the IUF Meat Conference (1-2 November 2011), a proposal was made - and accepted - to convene a steering group of affiliates to explore the feasibility of creating a Meat Division within the IUF. The steering group would be tasked with looking at possible resources, priorities and objectives for the work of an IUF Meat Division. 

An informal meeting of affiliates who expressed interest in joining the provisional meat sector steering group will take place in Geneva on February 24, 2012 and will develop the proposal for a Meat Division to be established as an article 13 special group. Other items on the agenda include: Updates on key companies and recent conflicts; Proposals to the Executive Committee and Congress; Campaign in support of poultry workers in Brazil.
